Kunming Changshui International Airport is located in Guandu District, Kunming City, which is an important civil airport in Yunnan Province and the only international airport in Yunnan Province. Kunming Changshui International Airport is a Class 4 international airport recognized by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), the civil airport with the highest national security level, and one of the international aviation hub airports recognized by CAAC.
Kunming Changshui International Airport was officially opened to traffic on December 28, 1995, and is the first civil airport in China to be named as "International Airport".
