Qinhuangdao Beidaihe Airport (IATA: BPE, ICAO: ZBPE), located in Beidaihe District, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, is a medium-sized civil airport, which was officially opened to traffic on October 30, 2012, and is the first civil airport in Hebei Province. The airport is located about 30 kilometers away from the center of Qinhuangdao and about 200 kilometers away from the center of Beijing, and is the only civil airport in Hebei Province. The airport covers an area of about 3.5 square kilometers and has a 2.8-kilometer-long runway, which can accommodate large passenger aircraft such as A320 and B737 at the same time. The airport has an international standard terminal building, which can handle 1,000 passengers at the same time, with security check, check-in, baggage claim, business lounge and other service facilities. The airport can carry nearly 200 flights per day and has opened flights to domestic and international cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Xi`an, Jinan, Qingdao, Kunming, Lhasa, Urumqi, Harbin, Dalian, Changchun, Hohhot, Lanzhou, Guiyang, Nanchang, Changsha, Nanning, Zhengzhou, Wuhan, Taipei, Hong Kong and Macau.
