The Chinese Language School (TCLS) is a non-profit and non-political educational institution, open to all, regardless of race, religion, or national origin. The purpose of TCLS is to teach Chinese language, to introduce Chinese culture, and to provide Chinese culture activities and other relevant programs for youths.
The organization and educational program of The Chinese Language School are formulated to:
1.Help children of Chinese descent to better understand their heritage and appreciate their culture;
2.Provide people of non-Chinese background with the opportunity to study the Chinese language and foster a deeper understanding of the Chinese culture.
TCLS is a school for pursuing knowledge, moral principles, and teamwork. This will be accomplished through providing Chinese cultural activities and relevant programs for youths.
Currently, we offer language classes from K1 – Grade 9 and Bilingual Family Levels 1-5, between 2 – 4 PM on every Sunday. We also offer adult language class for student parents.
Between 4 – 5 PM are the extra-curricular cultural classes which include Chinese flute (Dizi), arts and crafts, Chinese folk dance, Painting, Kung-Fu, etc.
TCLS is a school for the entire family. Parents are encouraged to participate in school affairs and activities. During students’ language class session, parents can take Tai-Chi, Yoga, or ErHu lessons or play basketball and other sports. We hold special topic seminars for parents regularly.
