    Headquartered in Beijing, United Airlines of China Limited ("United Airlines") is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Eastern Airlines Company Limited ("China Eastern Airlines"). Founded on December 26, 1986, United Airlines of China was originally under the leadership of the Air Force; in October 2004, it was owned by Shanghai Airlines and China National Aviation Equipment Import & Export Corporation after a transfer of shares; in October 2010, United Airlines of China joined China Eastern Airlines in a joint reorganization of China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airlines; and in November 2012, it was integrated and reorganized with the former Hebei Branch of China Eastern Airlines; In July 2014, it announced its transformation and is now positioned as an innovative budget airline.

    United Airlines of China is the first state-owned innovative economy airline in China. With Beijing Daxing International Airport as its main operating base, Hebei Branch, Tianjin Branch, Sichuan Branch, Zhejiang Branch, and a subsidiary, Foshan Shadi Airport Management Company Limited, United Airlines of China has initially constructed a strategic layout of a diamond-shaped network. At present, United Airlines of China has 3,500 employees, a fleet of 56 aircraft (53 Boeing B737s and 3 Airbus A330s), and flight points in 81 cities across the country, flying 108 routes; it transports more than 9 million passengers annually, and has successfully accomplished many major national transportation and security tasks.

    In response to the national supply-side structural reform, to adapt to and lead the trend of change in world aviation development, and to promote the development strategy of civil aviation for the masses, on July 2, 2014, China Eastern Airlines Group announced that China United Airlines had transformed into a low-cost carrier. By now, China United Airlines has become an important platform for the comprehensive deepening of reform and transformation and development of China Eastern Airlines, the main carrier of China Eastern Airlines' dual-brand strategy, an important participant in China Eastern Airlines' Beijing strategy, and an important practitioner of civil aviation's Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integration strategy. Currently, it is actively integrating into national strategies such as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
