Established in 1998, Feng Hua Chinese School is a community language school supported by the Community Languages Program of NSW Department of Education and Communities, with its academic results also being recognized by public high schools.
Teaching aims:
Feng Hua Chinese School has committed acquainting its students with basic skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing through using the well-known Zhongwen to further promote Chinese cultural education. The students are aimed to be trained to be bilingual talents with practicality, a sense of innovation, high integrity, and all-round convoys of multi-culture in our new era.
Teachers:
Our school has been committing promoting Chinese culture and education and improving its language teaching standards during the past 12 years since its establishment. The teachers currently providing service here are mainly from the key primary and high schools and key colleges of mainland China, all having high teaching quality, which earns a good name for the school and is highly praised by the students and their parents.
Teaching materials:
The whole set of Zhongwen, commissioned by the Overseas Chinese Affairs of the State Council, specially written for overseas Chinese students by Jinan University, is currently used for the Chinese-background students in Fenghua. This material consists of 12 textbooks, each for different level and having two practicable exercise-books accordingly. Besides, students are also provided with the Chinese Extracurricular reading book and three books of Common Knowledge about Chinese Culture, History and Geography, and some exercise written by in-house teachers as the auxiliary materials.
In addition, we also applied Step into Chinese Reading Supplementary Materials which compiled according to the level of the curriculum Chinese in Year1. 8 reading booklets, 1 after-reading exercise book, 1 set of vocabulary cards and 1 writing book are provided with the Supplementary Materials. Which makes our class especially attractive is that parents can involve in the reading activities in class. This will greatly improve our students’ capability of reading Chinese materials.

Kuaile Hanyu is currently provided to non-Chinese background students in our school, each furnished with rich and interesting textbook and exercisebook.
